Notes:
Gerhard Frederick Sander and Juliane Sabine Ellermann lived in Schleptrup, Germany, until about 1879, when they moved with their family to Schwagstorf, Germany, where Frederick Sander was a mill owner.  The Sander family immigrated to the United States aboard the America, which embarked at Bremen, Germany, and arrived at the Port of Baltimore on 10 Oct 1883.  The family settled in Louisville, KY, where they owned a dairy farm on Pflanz Avenue west of 40th Street.

In 1904 Gerhard Frederick Sander was involved in a dispute over a rent payment.  He died from injuries received in a fight in front of the Mattingly Distillery offices at 40th and High Streets.

Herman Henry Sander ran away from home about 1898.
