Notes:
Gerhard Henry Sand immigrated to the United States in 1854.  He traveled aboard the Charlemagne, which embarked at Bremen, Germany, and arrived at the Port of New Orleans on 25 May 1854.  He settled in Louisville, KY, where he worked as a foundry laborer.  Henry Sand was naturalized as a U. S. citizen on 5 Apr 1866 in Louisville, KY.

 
Mary Elizabeth Poppe immigrated to the United States in 1858.  She traveled aboard the New York, which embarked at Bremen, Germany, and arrived at the Port of New York on 28 Aug 1858.  She settled in Louisville, KY, where she worked as a dressmaker.

 
Joseph Henry Sand served with the 1st Regiment of the Kentucky Infantry in the Spanish-American War in 1898.  He died from typhoid fever returning from the war.
