The Mullen children immigrated to the United States one by one in the 1850s and 1860s as they reached about age 18. All of the children settled in Louisville by 1865. Mary Mullen immigrated in 1855, Margaret Mullen in 1856, Rose Mullen and Robert Mullen (underage) in 1859, and Ellen Mullen in 1864.
Robert Mullen was naturalized as a U. S. Citizen on 4 Dec 1875 in Louisville, KY.
